Accepted Students Day Tomorrow

Well the day we have been eagerly anticipating is finally upon us...Accepted Students Day! Tomorrow beginning at 9:30 am, our Accepted Students Open House will commence. Guests are invited to check in at the Campus Center to get the day started. There, we will direct you to your specific school's meeting (Arts & Sciences, Business, Engineering, or Pharmacy--depending on your major) where you will sit in on a mock class, and hear from faculty members as well as Deans from each of the schools. Later in the day, you will enjoy a wonderful brunch in our dining hall. Finally, you will have the opportunity to have a one-on-one interview with an Admissions Counselor and/or a Financial Aid Representative to have all of your last minute questions answered.

This is one of the last opportunities to make a visit to Western New England before the May 1st deposit deadline. Accepted Students day is a perfect chance to take in our beautiful campus before deciding whether WNEC will be your home for the next four years and maybe more! If you can't make tomorrow's Open House or if you missed the registration deadline, there is still another opportunity to attend an accepted students Open House on campus. We will be offering an additional day for accepted students on April 10th. To register for the April 10th Open House, please visit our website at this link:

We look forward to seeing you on campus for this exciting day!

March Madness

One of my favorite times of the year is upon us...March Madness. March Madness is an opportunity for everyone to make their best attempt at filling out a bracket for the NCAA college basketball tournament. People here at Western New England have gotten into the act as we have been working to find those Cinderella teams in between reading applications.

The city of Springfield is even getting in on the madness that is March. The Mass Mutual Center in downtown Springfield is the host of the 2011 Men's Division 2 quarterfinals round, final four and championship game. The quarterfinal round will be played on Wednesday, March 23rd beginning at 12:00 pm. The final four games will be played on Thursday, March 24th at 6:00 and 8:30 pm. The championship game will be played on Saturday, March 26th at 1:00 pm and will be televised nationally on CBS. For those of you in the area who would like to take in this fantastic event, you can still find tickets online at: http://www.ticketmaster.com/NCAA-Mens-Basketball-Tournament-tickets/artist/821743

By the way...I have Duke beating Pittsburgh in the championship game if anyone is curious! Good luck filling out your brackets!

Application Round-Up

Hello from a busy Admissions Office here at Western New England College. Our Counselors are still hard at work reading applications from some very qualified students. If you haven't applied to WNEC yet, it's not too late! We work on a rolling admissions basis which means we will continuously take applications as they come in. If you haven't filled out your application for the fall of 2011, you will need to submit:

-An application (either in online or print form through WNEC or the Common Application)
-An official high school transcript
-SAT and/or ACT scores
-At least one letter of recommendation
-A personal statement/essay

You are welcome to call our Admissions Office at 413-782-1321 to check the status of your application if you receive a letter that you are missing materials, or if you just want to double-check to make sure we have received everything from your application. This is your chance to be considered for admission for the upcoming fall 2011 academic year! We hope to see your application soon!
