Open House Tomorrow

Tomorrow Western New England College will hold its third-to-last open house of the academic year. Tours and Admission Information Courses begin at 10:00 am beginning in the St. Germain Campus Center. There will also be Admissions and Financial Aid Information Sessions from 12:30 to 1:00 as well as 3:30 to 4:00. Finally, we offer Academic and Campus Life Programs between 1:00 and 4:00.

There is limited time left to see our beautiful campus for an open house! The year is flying by and this is another great opportunity to visit Western New England College before making that final decision. Faculty and staff will be on hand to assist you with any questions. Meeting with an Admissions Counselor may also be helpful if you are still involved in the application process. They will give you important information regarding your pending acceptance to WNEC. School of Pharmacy Receives Accreditation

I am pleased to announce that Western New England College has received permission from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) to receive Precandidate status! This allows the "founding" 75 students that are enrolled as a Pre-Pharmacy major to apply for the professional phase of the Pharmacy program. What this means for our prospective WNEC students is that now we have a professional Pharmacy school on campus that students will be able to spend four years in after their first two years in Pre-Pharmacy. The timing for this announcement couldn't have come at a better time due to the opening of the brand new Center for the Sciences and Pharmacy last month. Now all Pre-Pharmacy and professional Pharmacy classes will be held at the newest academic building on campus.

High school students who are interested in the Pharmacy program should know a few things about the Pre-Pharmacy program. Since this is a highly sought after program, the academic requirements tend to be a little more rigorous. Students should have at least a 2.8 GPA in high school as well as a minimum 1050 SAT score on the Critical Reading & Math portions of the test or at least a 23 ACT score to be considered for the Pre-Pharmacy major. If a student does not get into Pre-Pharmacy as their major, they will not be eligible to transfer into the major. Typically students who do not get into Pre-Pharmacy apply for either Biology or Chemistry. After two years as a Bio or Chem major our students can apply for the professional phase of the Pharmacy program but should know it is not a guaranteed acceptance as there are limited seats in the professional phase. We hope to see your Pre-Pharmacy application soon!
